enterprise Bridge
(eB) is the only commercial information management
solution that manages the connectivity to all
your relevant enterprise information such as documents,
records, assets, people, processes & projects – creating
an ecosystem for the rapid
access of accurate information in context.
eB Suite provides five key functions
for managing the lifecycle of enterprise information:
Document management
Document control
and change management
Records management
Document distribution
Configuration
management
Enterprise Informatics has designed and built
eB Suite on a service-oriented architecture
(SOA) that conforms to enterprise standards for scalability and
extensibility.
As a result, eB Suite enables you to rapidly develop
and implement innovative enterprise information management
solutions that go beyond what is possible with standard
content management systems.
eB suite uniquely models enterprise information
by providing pre-defined information "objects"
that are ready to use. These objects have defined data and behavior
based on the best practices learned and proven by Enterprise Informatics.
These pre-defined objects include:
Documents
Physical Items
Organizations
Persons
Locations
Projects
eB Suite also consists of complex information structures
used to model business processes, project definitions,
and requirement specifications. These are easily
defined and created in eB using a unique feature called "virtual
items."
In conjunction with the core objects, virtual
items make it possible to model virtually any information
model within eB without programming or customization.
Not only can information like a process be modeled but its definition
can be controlled and tracked with revision control.
This makes it possible to control and track changes not only of
the information but the definition of the information as well.
While it is useful and necessary to properly identify and track
individual information objects, in order to determine the information's
relevance the relationships between the individual information objects
must be known. This is one of the cornerstones of the eB information
architecture.
In eB, it is easy to see who is responsible for
information, what the information describes, and what other information
must be considered if a change is needed. This ability to determine
the impact of change is key to ensuring the integrity
of the information in the enterprise and ultimately meeting compliance
requirements.

Most of the best known software tools have been
assessed relative to their ability to support the CMII methodology
developed by the CMII Research Institute. Of those assessed, less
than half were able to meet the minimum requirements. eB from Enterprise
Informatics is certified as one of the few tools most capable of
supporting CMII:
Baseline format, fields and functionality
per the CMII model
Able to identify baselines by model
or an equivalent ID number
Provides work flows that emulate
the closed-loop change process
Includes forms and decision points
per the CMII model
Uses field names and terminologies
per the CMII model
Uses items, documents, forms and
records as key information handles
Enables co-ownership of each document
per the CMII model
